About Res Publica

A civic institution for research, dialogue, participation and accountable institutional practice.

Res Publica is a German nonprofit, grant-funded civic organisation. Its work connects Research, Dialogue and Participation with the question of how lived experience can inform accountable public action.

The kind of institution we are building

Our aim is not only to offer individual formats. Res Publica develops institutional capacity: reliable methods of listening, traceable evidence, bounded responsibilities, human approval and a memory of decisions, reasons and change.

Trust does not arise from a brand promise. It is produced through answerability, bounded authority, transparent evidence, institutional memory and the capacity for repair.

Human authority

Technical systems may support the work. They cannot replace consequential human decisions, approval or publication authority. Responsibilities remain separated and limited to their purpose.

What this website is

This website is a multilingual public space for orientation, information and participation. It explains the mission and method; separates Programs, Products, Services and Projects; makes confirmed public work discoverable; and provides protected entry points into membership and the Member Profile.

What this website is not

It is neither the whole institutional system nor a public inventory of internal infrastructure. It does not expose sensitive records, internal assignments or unreviewed working states. Documented programmes are not presented as launched, and internal technology is not marketed as a public product.
